Day 7: Little Miss Excuses

Today Little Miss Excuses left her run until quite late. She did try calling it off due to bad weather, a note from her mum excusing her etc, but that didn't go down well on twitter. It was really, really, really rainy in Surrey, but... eventually the sun came out, Little Miss Excuses dashed out to bag a few miles. It was her usual route, the first 1 3/4 miles went without event. However on turning the corner down a country lane it was completely flooded.

Little Miss Excuses was wearing her regular asics and they are not known for their waterproofing, or ' turning you into Jesus walking on water abilities'. So she tried seeing if she could jump it but she has pathetically short legs and so that was no good. Instead she took a detour and jogged down a 'dog walkers path' -that Knitting Penguin would probably not advise running down alone, for fear of' 'ending up dead under a shrubbery'. Thankfully she wasn't murdered or attacked and the run continued peacefully until... she was chased about 25 meters down the road by an angry (but very small yappy) dog and an angry red faced owner, shouting 'come back, come back'. She presumed he wasn't shouting at her, and with visions of becoming a human mulch under a shrubbery, she put the hammer down and sprinted away as fast as she could go- taking tonights mileage to a nice round 5.

Tonight miles: 5
Total miles for week 1: 45
Number of times dead under a shrubbery: 0
