A lay in meant that today's run was later on in the day than planned. Left the house around 4:15 and was immediately hit by the stifling air, having sat at my desk all day in the cool, was quite shocked how hot it was outside! Felt quite tired as I had a late night out in London. I went to the comedy store and had really fun evening, but a stop off in China town for a Chinese meant that by the time I got to bed it was past 1!
My short recovery run was almost over when a psychopathic moped driver nearly ran me over on the quietest of roads. He had 'L' plates on which I took to stand for 'loser' or even 'lunatic'. I have nothing against moped riders normally, it's just when they have their own highway code and they see a lone runner as an easy target, something to brag about to their underage friends in the pub!
That said I didn't die or become another 'dead runner' in the statistics graveyard! However on the homeward journey, about a mile away from home, I was almost taken out by a large black VW Passat which pulled out of a driveway without looking. I think I'm going to rename the road the road to hell, because a few weeks ago I was almost run over by the local vicar and his wife...trying to get people straight to heaven perhaps!
Bit of a short blog tonight...
