So, marathon training started today with a 'long run'. By all accounts 8 miles isn't actually that long but it was all I could find within myself.
I ran along the cycle path, which is off road and in the woods, theory being it would be cooler in the heat. However at 7:30 this morning there was no heat and so it was just the right temperature! It was a bit gloomy and grey and actually quite chilly now. Not great weather considering I'm off to a christening in a short summery dress!!!
So, 8 miles today taking my total to 23, that's all running miles no cycling mileage in there at all. Not a bad start to the week. I wonder how this week will go, I have two exams this week and so will mostly have my head down revising and being in denial about the traumatic 4 weeks that lay ahead! Running is a good distraction!

ReplyDeleteGood luck for your exams. I've been studying for a degree for 7 years (off and on!), and have taken a break till October, so thankfully no stressful exams this year! Good Juneathon milage too, well done!

ReplyDeleteGood luck in your exam revision and your marathon training, after running London this year as my first ever marathon, I'm not sure which I thinks worse anymore long, long runs or weeks of revision!!
