The alarm went off at 4:29 am, this is practically still night time. But no, it was time to get up shake a leg and get going. My boyfriend, Steve and his friend Lee were taking part in the London to Brighton bike ride.
I was the designated 'transport to the start officer'. There were a few issues getting to the start, read Steve's blog today or tomorrow find out what happened! After dropping off my eager (if slightly jaded) riders, I carefully avoided knocking off any other bike riders and drove back home. I had just enough time to make a cup tea and have a wee and nipped to the point that we would see the chaps on the course.
They were a little late arriving, but it was fab to see them. Once we'd waved them off it was time to hot foot it off to the next location (a bit further down the road) to wave and cheer again. Once we'd seen them safely on their way, it was off to do Father's Day with Dad. I met him at the local Beefeater, and we both had yummy steak and chips. It was so lovely to spend some time with Dad.
When I got home I only had time for 3 miles, but after such a tiring day I think that I should be excused from a long run- Juneathon is fondly known as the festival of excuses after all. It's now 8:30 pm and I'm in my PJs. Tomorrow I have to do that full time working thing again!! Well done to everyone who's managed to jog, exercise, log, and blog everyday for the last 17 days, we are over half way at last! Whoop!
