*Insert interesting blog title here*: Day 11

The weird thing about being in the middle of exams is that all days feel like the same. At the moment my life has four agendas.
1. Revise
2. Eat and sleep
3. Ensure child is fed, watered and clothed
4. Run
So today didn't feel like a Saturday however I enjoyed a lie in until 9:30 something, which was a luxury, but meant I was a little behind on the day's schedule! I slept well after a late night watching Piranha, a terrible film which I wouldn't recommend you waste your life watching! I am planning a long run (well long for me) of 10 miles tomorrow and so thought today I would just stick to a respectable 3, which I completed in 28 minutes. I used the runkeeper ap on my iphone as the battery on garmin was dead :o( However I know the roads and trails round here so well after running for a good few years now and can pinpoint the mile markers in my head. Run keeper seemed to underestimate the distance by almost .3 of a mile, highly inaccurate!!! I wonder how many people are out there with badly calibrated apps too, running excessive miles with that evil runkeeper woman shouting in their ears!

The rest of the day I've been chained to my desk revising for a cognitive psychology exam with exciting essay questions such as : To what extent is the categorization of speech sounds innately or culturally determined? Yawn, yes I did too! Tonight involves spaghetti bol and a big fruit salad...yummy!

So today I ran 3, tomorrow I am running 10 with my personal trainer Mr P who is planning on bringing a fish slice and some motivational phrases to get me to run 10 miles in a decent time...some chance.

Miles:3
Total: 43 (those half miles add up too werhooo)
Exams taken: 2
Exams left:4 pah!

  1. I use RunKeeper, so interesting to hear about it's inaccuracies. 'The Bitch' (as I call the voice) is quite annoying and changes the tone of her voice to match any drop in my pace (or do I just imagine that?). I should run an official measured course to test it's capabilities. 43 Juneathon miles is highly respectable! You'll break the 50 barrier with tomorrow's long run. Whoo Hooo!

  2. You know I thought I detected a distinct bitchy tone in her voice when I had a crap interval!

Jo365, I've been trying lots of different iPhone apps trying to find a reliable record of my runs and I'm finding fault with all of them! I'm thinking that I might be wanting a Garmin for Christmas (just in time for Janathon!)What Garmin do you have and what do you think of it?

  3. I'm so glad it's not just me who's completely anal about having to have the 'exact' distance! I ran with Garmin and Nike + today... complete overload but I wanted to calibrate the Nike, using the garmin to do it... Sheila was a whole 0.14 out!! Can you believe it!!! Well, not anymore! Good luck with your exam revision.
