Day 14: Mr Bounce

Today has been one of those very random, 'glad to get to the end of it' days! It started rather badly with the alarm going off at unearthly hour. Mini-PsychoJog had a school trip to Marwell Zoo today so I was up early making packed lunch for an excited school tripper. The aim was, after the school run, to whip out a few miles before my first meeting at 10:30.

However, a text from my boss said she was in town and not sure if her meeting was going ahead or not- regardless she wanted to meet me in the car park 30 minutes before the 10:30 meeting to 'catch up'! I was all dressed in my running gear, I hadn't showered or read my notes for the meeting, my hair was a mess and I hadn't washed up the breakfast things or emptied the dishwasher from last nights dinner- it was a domestic disaster! I did a mental calculation that even if I nipped out for a short run, she might ring saying lets meet earlier- seeing me in my running stuff all unprepared and dishevelled- or worse she might drive past me red faced and jogging along! It was a disaster either way! I decided to leave the run and get dressed ASAP and get organised and at the very least wash-up!

It was a good job I did, 10 minutes later my boss phoned to say her meeting wasn't going ahead (this happens a great deal in my job). I was 'pleased' to invite her round here for a cup of tea and a much needed catch up! I was at least dressed and in my right mind, I even managed to fire up the lap top and do 5 mins admin while I waited for her! So the run was parked but my boss was happy!

Life has taken an unexpected turn in the last two days- I may blog about it later on in June- it would have been so easy to give up today, but after a quick tea and a few other errands I eventually ran at 7:30pm, only 2 miles but taking me to 80 miles running in June.

As a treat I ran in my brand new spanking running shoes. It was a bit like running with two new trampolines stuck to my legs. It was only 2 miles, but enough to keep my stress levels at bay and keep my personal Juneathon challenge afloat for another day!

My other treat was a gin and tonic in my PJs whilst writing this!!!

Miles: 2
Total:80
Bosses turning up unexpectedly for tea: 1
G&Ts: 1
